It has been announced that Tim Minchin's musical Groundhog Day will open on Broadway on 17th April 2017 (previews from March).
The musical will play the August Wilson Theatre, replacing Jersey Boys which is set to close on 15th January 2017 after 4,642 performances.
Groundhog Day recently premiered in London at the Old Vic Theatre, with the run set to conclude on 17th September 2016. Andy Karl is expected to reprise his performance as Phil Connors on Broadway, with casting to be confirmed.
