It has been announced that Verity Rushworth will share the role of Holly Golightly with the previously announced Pixie Lott in the UK tour of Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
Rushworth will play the role from 2nd May to 11th June 2016, appearing at His Majesty’s Aberdeen, Nottingham Theatre Royal, Theatre Royal Bath, Glasgow Theatre Royal, King’s Theatre Edinburgh and Wycombe Swan.
Truman Capote’s classic novella has been adapted for the stage by Tony and Olivier Award-winning playwright Richard Greenberg and contains "memorable songs" from the era as well as original music by Grant Olding.
Rushworth recently starred as Vera Claythorne in the UK tour of Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None. Her theatre credits include: Velma Kelly in Chicago (Leicester Curve), Maria in The Sound of Music (UK tour), Penny Pingleton in Hairspray (Shaftesbury Theatre), Carnaby Street (UK tour), Merrily We Roll Along (Clwyd Theatre Cymru), The Seven Year Itch (Salisbury Playhouse) and Annie (West Yorkshire Playhouse).
At the age of twelve Rushworth was cast as Donna Windsor-Dingle in ITV’s Emmerdale. She played the role between 1998 and 2009 before returning to the role in 2014, receiving a NTA nomination for Best Serial Drama Performance. Read our interview with Verity Rushworth.
